Questions to discuss with your partner before marriage

I am not married so of course, I am no expert. However, these are some topics that I believe are important to talk about with your loved one before getting married. I believe some of these things are better to talk about before marriage so you two are on the same page.

  1. Finical Goals- You have to come to an agreement on your budgets.

  2. How can you help when your partner is having a bad day or stressed?- It is important to know what your spouse needs when feeling this way.

  3. Do you want children and what would we do if we struggled to have kids?- This is a worse case scenario but, the truth is some individuals can't have kids. So what would be your next step?

  4. Expectations about parenting

  5. What is your communication style?- Communication is one of the most important things in a relationship.

  6. Religious Views- A big one. How often should we go to church? How often should we do a bible study and pray together? All very important questions to ask.

  7. How much alone time do you need?

  8. What is your biggest fear?

  9. What is your exceptions on intimacy?

  10. What does marriage mean to you?

  11. Who is taking out the trash? LOL Jk

  12. How often should we go on dates as a married couple?

  13. How often should we visit in-laws?

  14. Is there anything you are not willing to give up once married?

  15. When conflict arrises, how will we handle it?

  16. How do you imagine spending the holidays?

  17. How do you express love?

  18. What is your love language?

  20. Is there anything I need to know that you have not yet shared with me?
